Siemens Emerging Transportation Platforms (ETP), an incubated start-up within of our Smart Infrastructure Chief Technology Office (SI CTO), is seeking qualified candidates for its summer internship in AI Business Analysis beginning in May 2025. This program is based in Fremont, CA.

Depot360 is the inaugural solution coming out of the Emerging Transportation Platform incubator, providing commercial fleets the ability to transition to electrification - from vehicles, to facilities, to energy management, to charging - by eliminating the risk, reducing transportation costs, increasing the efficiency of ongoing operations, and decreasing ongoing energy spend.

Role Description:

  • In this 12-week internship, you'll play a pivotal role in developing whitepapers that demonstrate how applying AI and ML algorithms in our sustainability platform - along with the digital twins they generate - enables the transition and cost-effective operation of electric fleets.
  • You can expect to engage with Product Development, Business Development, and Product Management on how we are leveraging AI for our customers and channels.

You'll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

  • Current undergraduate student pursuing a bachelor's degree or graduate student pursuing a master's degree from an accredited institution. Candidates must not be graduating prior to September 2025.
  • Pursuing a degree in Environmental Science/Studies, English, Life Sciences, Economics, or a related program.
  • Able to work remotely with occasional in-person reporting to Siemens offices in the California Bay Area.
  • Available to work 40 hours per week for 12 weeks from May to August or June to September.
  • Located within 50 miles of Fremont, CA, as this role does not support candidate relocation. Flexibility to work remotely from other locations for portions of the internship due to school or family commitments will be reviewed on an individual basis.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience, training, or education in the areas of electrification, transportation, energy, or environmental issues.
  • Ability to work effectively with multinational and diverse group and effectively manage and prioritize a variety of concurrent activities.
  • Self-Starter with good time management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience in creating procedures, standards, and/or practices.
  • Ability to share some examples of critical thinking used to maintain a big picture of the topics under discussion or for issue resolution of high-impact, complex issues.
  • Exposure to business process analysis and design is a plus.
  • Ability to speak German and/or French is a plus.
