Job Description

Summary:

Workforce Group (WFG) is seeking experienced Florida Licensed Building Inspectors. In this role, you will conduct field inspections of structures affected by the hurricane to ensure that all repairs and new construction meet regulatory standards. Inspectors will play a key role in maintaining public safety and expediting recovery efforts. The Building Inspector is responsible for inspecting and evaluating residential and commercial building sites for compliance with approved drawings and applicable County codes, ordinances, and building regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct on-site inspections of residential, commercial, and infrastructure for conformance with plans and specifications.
• Verify that structures comply with the Florida Building Code and local ordinances.
• Assess damage to determine safety risks and recommend repair actions.
• Issue inspection reports and work closely with contractors to resolve violations.
• Coordinate with city officials on permitting and safety concerns.
• Communicates inspection findings to others; recommends corrective actions; invests and resolves complaints.
• Provide technical assistance by phone or in person.
• Prepares inspection reports, log entries, and summaries of field observations.
• Assists in monitoring property maintenance issues.
• Performs related work as required.

Qualifications:

Active Building Inspector License in Florida. A minimum of two (2) years of experience in the residential and commercial construction inspection field; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Prior experience in disaster recovery is preferred. Familiarity with building code enforcement and inspection tools. Ability to work in challenging environments and meet strict deadlines.
