Overview

Under the direction of the Manager, Emergency Management and Business Continuity, the incumbent supports the Institute’s Business Continuity Program. This role is responsible for developing and implementing plans to ensure the continuity of operations in the event of a business disruption. The role requires expertise in risk management, business impact analysis, disaster recovery planning, and crisis management. The Program Administrator will lead the development of plans, coordinate testing and training, and review and update plans to ensure the organization is prepared for any potential disruptions.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains a business recovery plan and procedure; reviews, revises, and expands existing plans and protocols.
  • Conducts risk assessments for various departments and functions, analyzing potential business impacts of unpredictable business interruptions such as natural disasters, security breaches, legal claims, and civil disruptions.
  • Identifies and implements recovery operations and methods to allow DFCI to function at limited or partial capacity in the event that part of all of the infrastructure is damaged or destroyed.
  • Implements software solution for business continuity across DFCI.
  • Support the maintenance and testing of business continuity plans; provides guidance to users on plan development, detail, testing, and execution to ensure all business units have up-to-date, tested, and effective business continuity plans.
  • Train personnel in business continuity procedures.
  • Coordinate with integrated programs to ensure business readiness (I.e., Disaster Recovery, Emergency Management, Security, Facilities, Health & Safety, Communications, Human Resources, Legal, etc.).
  • Provide regular reports on business continuity activities.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in emergency preparedness, and/or security/public safety, in a healthcare setting.
  • Completion of ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Experience with NIMS/HICS.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Zoom, Adobe.
  • Knowledge of trends, issues, and accepted practices relevant to the position.
  • Excellent attention to detail skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to interact professionally with peers, leadership, and external contacts.
  • Must possess the ability to problem solve with minimal guidance, maintain confidentiality, and pay excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent ability to organize, prioritize and follow-through.
  • Ability to apply independently a wide variety of policies/procedures where specified guidelines may not exist.
