Position Summary
As a Sales Associate at The UPS Store, you will be the first point of contact for customers, delivering exceptional service and ensuring a positive experience. Your role encompasses a variety of tasks, including assisting customers with their shipping, printing, and business service needs. You will handle package processing, operate various office equipment, and manage point-of-sale transactions. Additionally, you will provide accurate information about our products and services, identify customer needs, and offer appropriate solutions. Maintaining store cleanliness and organization is also a key responsibility. The ideal candidate is friendly, detail-oriented, and possesses strong communication and computer skills. Prior retail or customer service experience is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide outstanding customer service to walk-in customers and telephone inquiries.
· Execute best practices instituted by The UPS Store franchise and Kabelin Shipping Company.
· Maintain day-to-day operations and uphold housekeeping standards.
· Ensure effective communication with staff and management.
· Maintain merchandising standards.
· Answer customers' questions and provide information on products and services.
· Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
· Follow packaging requirements to ensure no damage occurs to customers’ products.
· Communicate all packaging requirements with the UPS driver at the time of pickup (e.g., high-value items are signed at pickup).
· Assist customers with copying, faxing, laminating, and binding projects.
· Coordinate print orders with our print specialist.
· Sell and maintain customer mailboxes.
· Balance end-of-day cash drawers.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Excellent problem-solving abilities.
· Ability to maintain a professional attitude and appearance.
· Capacity to multitask effectively.
· Ability to lift at least 60 pounds and reach above your head.
· Must be able to stand for up to 8-10 hours per shift.
