Position Summary Reporting to the Sr. Director, Human Resources, the HR Operations Generalist, will be responsible for supporting the HR operations functions and support the management of HR systems and services. This includes the coordination of the immigration processes while providing oversight and support for the HR regulatory compliance training program. They will work closely with the HR leadership team, as well as site HR teams and vendors to ensure mutual accountability and optimal performance of processes. This position will also help support the HR function in general HR duties for assigned locations including but not limited to onboarding, engagement, employee relations and offboarding.
The ideal candidate will be eager to continually learn in an ever-changing HR environment. They should be able to exercise effective judgement, sensitivity, and creativity to changing needs and situations. They will be analytical and detailed oriented with a keen ability to set goals and objectives to measure against performance.
Position Responsibilities - Serve as primary point of contact for internal Immigration process in the U.S., Including engaging with external legal and internal partners to coordinate the processes needed for proper work authorization for employees approved to relocate to the U.S.
- Serve as escalation point for site HRs for leave of absence program, processes, and vendor performance. Ensure accountabilities of leave of absence vendor.
- Work with HR stakeholders and vendors to create, update and oversee processes and workflows for HR processes and HR system. Review said programs for compliance with local, state, and federal laws. Communicate action plans to needed stakeholders.
- Serve as the designate HR for assigned groups. Perform all Generalist duties associated with supporting those employees including onboardings, engagement, offboarding’s, timekeeping, etc.
- Stay up to date on current and upcoming legislative changes that will have an impact on HR policies and procedures.
- Support the HR regulatory training requirements for Olam Americas. Program management will include administration, tracking, reporting and follow-up.
- Partner with HR leaders to address employee related issues brought to attention. Ensure timely action and reporting of said events/concerns.
- Work with broader HR team to provide support to major initiative including but not limited to process improvement, merger and acquisition, and open enrollment.
- Assist HR leadership team with ad hoc projects and requests.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements - High school diploma is required, bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Administration or Human Resources strongly preferred.
- Two (2) years’ previous Human Resources experience is required.
- Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills are required.
- Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Suites including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word are required.
- Ability to work with sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment with multiple demands and maintain confidentiality is required.
- Ability to work alone on a broad variety of projects is required.
- Ability to exercise effective judgement, sensitivity, and creativity to changing needs and situations is required.
- Ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with people in course of work is required.
- Ability to research, evaluate and analyze new recruitment techniques, methods and procedures.
- High level of integrity and trust, with strong ethics is required.
- Proven track record with action orientation, timely decision making and ability to act with ambiguity is required.
- Able to research and analyze information and use said research to suggest solutions is required.
- Must be analytical and detailed-oriented with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
The pay for this role in the state of CAranges from
$71,000-$95,000 and is based on the position responsibilities and geographic location. Actual pay within this range may be determined based on candidate’s experience, qualifications and/or other determining factors.
