Summary
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for developing and executing the talent strategy and has oversight for talent acquisition, employee relations, employee engagement, and learning and development. This on-site position will support sites in Irwin and Latrobe.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Serves as a trusted advisor to employees and management providing professional HR guidance and support.
- Partners with plant leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
- Leads and coaches managers through complex issues: leading investigations, overseeing employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and reasonable accommodation.
- Manages the talent acquisition process with recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants; collaborates with managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings. Identify and develop creative sourcing strategies, particularly for critical and high-volume roles.
- Establishes relationships with local vocational schools to promote awareness and create a recruitment pipeline.
- Serves as a liaison to new employees to ensure successful on-boarding and a smooth transition to their new roles. Supports new hires in enrollment of insurance, retirement, and benefits programs.
- Ensures compliance with local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Supports the administration of employee engagement surveys. Collaborates with leadership in developing and implementing action plans and programs that enhance employee engagement and support Hyperion’s culture.
- Stays abreast of trends to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
- Champion and support diversity and inclusion initiatives to drive awareness, accountability and customize actions.
- Ensures HRIS system and employee records are accurate, and changes are made timely manner.
- Creates and facilitates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Travel: Travel to sites within PA to maintain a visible and accessible presence.
Education and/or Work Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years HR Business Partner or HR Management experience in a manufacturing environment.
Technical Skills/Physical Requirements
- Working knowledge of best HR Practices and related state and federal laws, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
- Must be discreet, trustworthy and maintain confidentiality.
- Experience with developing Managers to provide a culture of respect, teamwork and accountability.
- Demonstrated experience facilitating training & development programs to support the development of local leaders and teams.
- Multi-site HR support experience.
- Ability to creatively recruit and lead the selection process for positions at all levels.
- Highly self-motivated to work autonomously and as part of the broader HR team.
- Proven ability to mediate discussions in an empathetic yet impartial manner to resolve conflict effectively.
- Adaptable to new ways of working and can contribute energy, enthusiasm and ideas to teams.
- Composed and considerate relationship builder able to form effective working relationships with people at all levels.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with strong ability to influence and lead others through change.
- Practical IT skills with proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
