Job Description

The Equity Exotics desk are responsible for trading and risk managing complex and non-standard derivative products, including trades that span multiple asset classes and innovative payoffs. In order to price and hedge the risk, members of the desks must be able to understand a wide variety of market instruments and warehouse complex risk. The Exotics desk is split into groups that specialize in managing index, single stock, and algorithmic strategy risk. Inside each group, all members work together to manage risk and price new trades. The desks also work closely with the Financial Engineering Group.


Qualifications:


Bachelors or Masters degree in related field
4+ years experience working directly on a single stock exotics desk
Strong competence in Computer Science, Math, Physics or Engineering
Analytical and a quick learner
Team player
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Compelling interest in the financial markets
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $75,000 and $125,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
