The successful candidate for this position will be a 1099 contractor with Music Ministry International and be responsible for the following:
1. Contract Position Title: Protestant Contemporary Service Music Director
2. Scope of Responsibilities:
2.1. Director will provide recruitment, organization, training, and equipping of volunteers in order to lead a high quality weekly Protestant Contemporary Worship Service.
2.2. Director will Work with the designated chaplain(s) responsible for the Protestant Contemporary Service in advance of each weekly service.
2.2. Provides 112 units of service during contract period, as well as for each Option Year. Each “unit” is categorized as (a) weekly service, (b) weekly rehearsal, (c) special service (i.e. Christmas, Good Friday, etc.), and (d) special service rehearsal. A unit consists of a one (1) to three (3) hour period of time that includes setup/clean-up, song selection, music research, and performance or rehearsal.

3. Education and Experience Requirements:
The Director shall submit a resume that includes proof of education, experience, and include two (2) professional letters of reference. Director will also:
3.1. Provide instrumental accompaniment for Contemporary Christian music worship band.
3.2. Have the ability to work effectively with diverse groups. Respect for other religious faith groups shall be maintained.
3.3. Have knowledge of, and experience with, Contemporary Christian music.
3.4. Shall have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a church music director or worship leader in a Contemporary Christian Worship setting.
4. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Director shall:
4.1. Coordinate all music for weekly Protestant Contemporary Service with chaplain(s) responsible for the service.
4.2. Coordinate all musical instruments and accompaniment, lead sheets, guitar chords, etc., for volunteer worship music team.
4.3. Select and report song usage to Christian Copyright License International (CCLI).
4.4. Arrive at least one (1) hour prior to Protestant Contemporary Service (currently held at 0900-1000) to set up music equipment, coordinate sound system support, and oversee volunteers. Service time may change in coordination with Wing Chaplain and chaplain responsible for service.
4.5. Coordinate one (1) rehearsal per week in the chapel sanctuary unless alternate location approved by chaplain responsible for service.
4.6. Ensure music equipment stored properly following rehearsals and services. Director also responsible for ensuring facility locked, orderly, and returned to its original configuration following use.
4.7. Coordinate with chaplain responsible for service as required for acquiring new music, equipment, repairs/servicing and other supplies.
4.8. Comply with all applicable Air Force and local instructions for financial management and accounting, facility use, maintenance and security, all of which are available in the chapel director continuity binder.
4.9. In accordance with DODI 1402.5 E3.2.c., each individual working with children under the age of 18 in conjunction with this contract shall successfully complete a federally mandated criminal history background check (conducted by the Base Chapel) which shall include a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) and if the individual has a prior DoD affiliation within the last two years an Installation Records Check (IRC).
