Position Summary

The Tax Preparer is responsible for the preparation of S-corporations, C-corporations, Partnerships and Individual Tax Returns for our visionary clients. The Tax preparer will be responsible for performing tax planning and implementing tax strategies that maximize tax deductions and increase financial wealth for our clients, as well as communicating with tax agencies on related tax issues. This is a full-time year-round position.

Responsibilities

High-end preparation of Business and Individual tax returns.

Comprehensive tax planning for multiple type and level clients.

Assess all business transactions and prepare accurate reports on your findings.

Coordinate with employees on income tax research and planning.

Ensure you remain up to date on industry changes and changes in regulations.

Respond to tax and accounting related issues.

Competencies

Demonstrate an understanding of all aspects of a client’s business (be able to interpret financial statements and pinpoint tax savings opportunities).

Conduct follow-ups with clients on tax and financial matters to ensure timely filed tax returns.

Being able to clearly communicate tax matters to clients and developing tax savings action plans for them.

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related area of study or equivalent work experience.
  • CPA or EA is preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a tax preparer.
  • Outstanding tax knowledge of local, state and federal regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills.
  • Solid understanding of accounting software and MS Office.
  • Knowledge of Thompson Reuters Software preferred, but not required.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
