Technology Training Specialist Location Dallas, TX (Downtown area) :
General Summary: The Technology Training Specialist is a position responsible for developing and administrating the Technology training programs for the entire agency. The Technology Training Specialist will support the training needs for the existing applications portfolio and the new software implementations. The Training Specialist will develop and administer eLearning and Instructor-Led training content. The ability to quickly learn various software applications to a substantial proficiency level is paramount for this role. The Training Specialist must be able to explain sometimes difficult technical material clearly and patiently to users with varying proficiency levels. This role will require someone outgoing and comfortable working with diverse groups of people while always maintaining professionalism.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Devise technical training programs according to organizational requirements.
- Collaborate with business partners and SMEs to determine their technical training needs.
- Design training programs in various delivery methods based on the business needs, including Instructor-Led Training and on-demand learning.
- Produce training schedules and classroom agendas for ILT programs.
- Create course materials, presentations, handouts, instructional aids, audio/visual materials.
- Facilitate Instructor-Led training in person and virtually.
- Design, develop, and implement eLearning content for various software applications.
- Create video-based software simulations, including interactivity and built-in assessments.
- Work with SMEs to facilitate the eLearning content review and testing process. Use tasks and revision tracking to ensure the end-product quality meets expectations.
- Observe and evaluate the results of training programs.
- Determine the overall effectiveness of programs and make improvements.
- Administer learning content in the SumTotal LMS.
- Provide support with basic LMS administration tasks.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Note: An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the below stated minimums excluding High School Diploma, GED, Licenses, or Certifications.
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Training, Education, Business, or related field.
- Five (5) years of experience in Technology Training in an enterprise environment, including instructional design, training facilitation, and eLearning authoring applications, such as Adobe Captivate, Articulate, Camtasia, etc, to include Two (2) years of experience working with an LMS system.
- Pass a physical (medical) examination that includes a drug screen in order to operate DART non-revenue vehicles.
- Proficiency of PC software applications to include Microsoft Office or other related software applications.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to quickly learn various software applications to a substantial proficiency level.
- Ability to explain sometimes difficult technical material clearly and patiently to users with varying proficiency levels.
- Ability to be outgoing and comfortable working with diverse groups of people while always maintaining professionalism.
- Project management skills, including task management and tracking, are required.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service.
- Change management skills preferred.
- Well organized in program development and administration.
Working Conditions: Works in an environment where there is minimum exposure to dust, noise, or temperature. May be moderately exposed to unpleasant working conditions to include dust, noise, temperature, weather, petroleum products, and chemicals while visiting DART's operating facilities, assuming incumbent is observing all policies and procedures, safety precautions and regulations, and using all protective clothing and devices provided.
