OUR COMPANY  

SimX is a fast-growing startup bringing virtual and augmented reality to medical simulation training. Our product is the first comprehensive professional-grade VR medical simulation system, and it is used by our customers to train physicians, nurses, paramedics and other allied health professionals. Since our product has become generally available, demand has exploded and we're in need of new team members to move our product forward.

THE JOB  

We are seeking a talented Web Developer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining SimX’s web presence, ensuring a seamless and visually compelling user experience while maintaining optimal performance and security. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in front-end and back-end development and can transform creative designs into functional, responsive, and engaging web pages. 

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Translate design mockups and wireframes into high-quality, responsive web pages.
  • Ensure consistent brand identity through cohesive design elements.
  • Enhance user experience (UX) by implementing modern and interactive features.
  • Troubleshoot and fix front-end bugs or design inconsistencies promptly.
  • Manage and optimize the website's server-side architecture for speed and reliability.
  • Implement and maintain integrations with third-party tools and APIs as needed.
  • Ensure site security by following best practices and managing system updates.
  • Perform regular backups and implement disaster recovery measures.
  • Implement on-page SEO requests
  • A/B split-testing

 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of experience in web development, with a strong portfolio showcasing responsive and functional web projects.
  • Proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React or Angular.
  • Experience developing and designing in Wordpress
  • Experience with ACF in Wordpress
  • Experience with server-side development using languages like Node.js, Python, or PHP.
  • Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git.
  • Strong understanding of web hosting environments and server optimization.
  • Proven ability to implement SEO best practices and integrate analytics tools.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Permanent residence in the United States

This is a full-time, remote position. Candidates must live within the United States. In addition, candidates will also be expected to attend major simulation conferences. 

 

 
PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Familiarity with WordPress or other CMS platforms.
  • Experience with database management, including MySQL or MongoDB.
  • Knowledge of UX/UI design principles and practices.
  • Experience in developing web applications for the healthcare or medical technology industry.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
  • Strong design skills.


COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Target salary range: $70,000-90,000 annually; commensurate with experience
  • Remote work environment
